FILTRATION, DEMINERALIZATION AND SOFTENING PLANT

Water Filtration Systems

Pressure Sand Filter (PSF)

Pressure Sand Filters are used for removing suspended particles, turbidity, and some organic matter from water. They work by passing water through a multi-layered bed of graded sand media under pressure, ensuring effective filtration. These filters are commonly used in industrial and municipal water treatment plants as a primary filtration stage before further purification.

Applications: Drinking water treatment, cooling tower water, industrial process water.

Media: Silica sand, gravel, pebbles.

Activated Carbon Filter (ACF)

Activated Carbon Filters remove chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), taste, odor, and organic contaminants. The activated carbon media adsorbs impurities, making water safe for consumption and industrial use. These filters are particularly effective in removing residual disinfectants and improving overall water quality.

Applications: Drinking water purification, food and beverage industry, wastewater treatment.

Media: Granular activated carbon (GAC), powdered activated carbon (PAC).

Iron Removal Filter (IRF)

Iron Removal Filters are designed to remove excess iron and manganese from water, preventing staining on plumbing fixtures, appliances, and clothes. These filters use oxidation and filtration processes to convert soluble iron into insoluble particles that can be easily filtered out.

Applications: Domestic water treatment, industrial process water, agriculture.

Media: Manganese greensand, BIRM (Burgess Iron Removal Media), catalytic media.

Water Softeners

Water Softeners are used to remove hardness-causing minerals such as calcium and magnesium through ion exchange. These minerals are replaced with sodium or potassium ions, preventing scale buildup in pipes, appliances, and industrial systems.

Applications: Residential homes, hotels, industrial boilers, laundries.

Media: Strong acid cation exchange resins.

DM Plant (Deionization Plant)

Demineralization (DM) Plants are used to remove dissolved salts, minerals, and ions from water, producing high-purity water suitable for industrial and laboratory use. These plants operate using ion exchange technology, where cations and anions are exchanged for hydrogen and hydroxyl ions, respectively.

Applications: Battery water production, pharmaceutical industry, power plants, laboratories.

Media: Strong acid cation resins, strong base anion resins.
